Annie's Bio:
Da jia ni hao! My name is Annie, and I am nineteen. I have just finished my second year of undergrad at UIC. I am majoring in Biological Sciences and minoring in Psychology. Also, I am in UIC's GPPA-Medicine program, a B.S./M.D. program, so obviously I am pre-med.
I have always been a bookworm, although I've been reading less than I'd like. I also enjoy writing (when I get the chance to do it). Although I'm not exactly stellar, I've been in some kind of choir or vocal music class every year since fourth grade. I especially love singing epic requiems in Latin and musical numbers. On the other end of the spectrum, I am a proud math and science nerd (no matter how much I may complain about my classes). With a career track like mine, that's hardly a surprise, right?

But outside of class, too, I'm looking forward to discovering modern China's culture and using this experience to come to a new understanding of my country (the US, in case I need to specify) and myself. Thanks for sharing some of the journey!
I have been abroad before, and I have been to China several times, but it wasn’t until this trip that I came to realize how very different the people and cultures of different countries can be. Sadly, many of these differences come across as something bad, when, just like we learned from shows like Barney [...]
